Tarn Taran: Drone, 2 kg heroin seized near border

In two separate incidents, the Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a drone and over 2 kg heroin near the International Border (IB) on Friday.
During the afternoon of February 2, BSF troops intercepted a drone near Pallopati village in the Tarn Taran sector. The suspected dropping area was cordoned off by the BSF and an extensive search was carried out jointly with the Punjab Police.
A China-made drone, along with 500 gram heroin in packet wrapped with yellow adhesive tape, were recovered from the fields adjacent to the village.
In the second incident, three packets containing 1.6 kg heroin, wrapped with yellow adhesive tape with a metal hook attached to them, were recovered from the fields near Roranwala Khurd village in the Amritsar sector. A search of the area had been carried out by the BSF on the basis of specific information.
