Drive to update voter lists for panchayat poll from tomorrow

Hoshiarpur, August 18

A special campaign will be run by the election registration officials of the district from August 20-22 to update the voter lists for the elections of the gram panchayats. During the three-day drive, the officials will visit villages and receive applications for making new votes, deleting or changing them.

Giving information in this regard, Hoshiarpur District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said the final publication of the voter lists had been done on the basis of the eligibility of voters on January 1, 2023. She said claims and objections regarding the lists were received till December 29, 2023, and were settled on January 5, following which the final list was published.

She said residents could fill in Form No.1 to create votes, Form No.2 for any objection/deletion of vote and Form No.3 for correction in the given details (change of address or correction in address, etc). The forms are available at the electoral registration offices, she said. — OC
