In a renewed effort to enhance public safety and curb traffic violations, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police had conducted a special drive under the supervision of Harshpreet Singh, ACP West. The operation was carried out between November 22 and 25 from 12 noon to 3pm, with a dual focus on addressing traffic offences and tackling eve-teasing incidents in the city.

The initiative saw a coordinated effort by the SHO of Police Station Division Number 5, the Emergency Response System (ERS) Zone 2 in-charge and the Field Media Team (FMT). Check-points were strategically set up near Basant Model Co-Ed School and Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Basti Sheikh to ensure a secure environment for women, girls and the public.

During the drive, 160 vehicles were inspected, resulting in 37 challans issued for violations. These included cases of vehicles operating without proper number plates, triple riding on two-wheelers, riding without helmets and driving without a valid licence. Moreover, seven vehicles lacking valid documents were impounded as part of the operation.
