Double-engine govt has delivered welfare schemes for 10 years: Haryana CM Nayab Saini
Sonepat, July 14
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today said over the past 10 years, the double-engine government of the Centre and the state had taken initiatives to deliver welfare schemes to the common man. He was addressing a gathering after unveiling the statue of Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap in Bhaira Bankipur village in Rai constituency of Sonepat district.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 14 development projects worth Rs 112 crore. He inaugurated four projects worth Rs 88 crore and laid the foundation stones of 10 projects worth Rs 24 crore.
Taking a dig at the previous governments, the Chief Minister said before 2014, governments only made announcements without implementing them. “The government used to show dreams to the people, but those promises did not materialise in reality,” he said. Earlier, there was power crisis in the state, but the present government has reformed the system to ensure 24-hour power supply to the people, the CM claimed.
The CM also highlighted that the government has provided government jobs to 1.5 lakh people without any bribery. Before 2014, the elderly received mere Rs 500 as a pension, but after coming to power, the BJP government increased it to Rs 1,000 and today, 20 lakh eligible beneficiaries in the state are receiving an ‘Old Age Samman Allowance’ of Rs 3,000. He further said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is functioning according to the Constitution of India and is progressing. Every needy person is being provided with facilities, which the Opposition couldn’t digest. They were misleading the people with lies, he added.
The CM said unveiling the statue of Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap is a matter of great pride for him. This statue will always inspire new generations with the bravery, patriotism, and courage of Maharana Pratap. He said around 509 schools in the state have been named after martyrs. Similarly, the Maharana Pratap Horticulture University has been established in Anjanthali in Karnal.
The CM also planted a sapling on the premises of Government Primary School in Bhaira Bankipur village under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign and said this campaign needs to be spread to every individual. BJP state president and Rai MLA Mohan Lal Badoli also planted a sapling. Badoli welcomed the Chief Minister and said the people are benefitting from the government’s public welfare schemes.
Mentioning the HAPPY scheme, he said a common man can travel for free up to 1,000 km on Haryana Roadways buses with a Happy Card to visit relatives. Minister of State for sports Sanjay Singh also addressed the gathering. Former Minister Krishna Gehlawat, former minister Kavita Jain, BJP’s district president Jasbir Dodwa along with other dignitaries were also present.
