Don’t need alliance for Haryana Assembly elections: Bhupinder Singh Hooda

Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda has dared the BJP to seek votes in the name of government portals in the upcoming elections to the state Assembly.

“The BJP leadership, which promptly makes portals for all services required by residents, should ask for votes in the name of these portals, if it feels that they are serving the purpose efficiently,” he said.

In an interaction with the media here today, Hooda alleged that no person was feeling safe as the BJP regime had made Haryana the most unsafe state. “The Haryana Government is being run by a ‘guru-chela’ duo and even the transfers are being done from Delhi. People will not vote for a regime that cannot ensure their safety,” he remarked.

Replying to a query, Hooda asserted that the Congress was strong in Haryana and did not need any alliance for the upcoming Assembly elections. He also questioned the intention of the BJP government behind setting up the Haryana Kaushal Rojgar Nigam (HKRN).

“The BJP leadership wants to end permanent jobs, reservation and merit through the HKRN. The government is turning educated youth into contract labourers on low wages,” he claimed.

The former Chief Minister promised that the Congress would make regular recruitment to fill nearly 2 lakh vacant posts on being voted to power in the state. “Due benefit of reservation will be given to the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SCs), Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and other reserved categories in government jobs. The Congress will restore the right of reservation, which the BJP has snatched from the deprived classes,” he alleged, adding that the OBC backlog would be filled on priority.
