Don’t deploy safai karamcharis at officers’ house sans sanction: MP
Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal expressed objection over the deployment of sanitation workers (safai karamcharis) at the houses of officers without sanction. He said that no employee should be deployed at the house of any officer without sanction from the appropriate authority.
Chairing a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee at the mini-secretariat, Yamunanagar, he directed the Municipal Commissioner to work on this issue seriously. “Do not deploy sanitation workers at any officer's house without sanction. Sanitation workers should undertake their assigned works only,” said Jindal.
In the meeting, he reviewed the implementation of various schemes sponsored by the Central Government and directed the officers to achieve all targets on time as well as speed up development works.
Ambala MP and vice-president of the committee Varun Chaudhary, Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora, Jagadhri MLA Akram Khan, chairman of Zila Parishad Ramesh Thaska, DC Manoj Kumar, ADC Ayush Sinha, Jagadhri SDM Sonu Ram and other officers were also present.
Jindal told the officers that they had to work together to make Yamunanagar a developed district. “We have set a target to make our country a developed nation by 2047. We have to work with honesty to achieve this target,” he said.
Jindal said that the way new incurable diseases were surfacing, the main reason for this was the increasing use of chemicals and fertilisers in agricultural products. He said that they need to promote natural farming in the country. He instructed the Deputy Director of Agriculture to emphasize on natural farming.
“Agriculture department should create awareness about natural farming by organising camps and giving training to farmers, so that diseases can be avoided by producing poison-free agriculture products,” he said. He also discussed the issue of cleanliness.
He said that proper arrangements should be made for cleaning of the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri.
He asked the officers to ensure that there should not be a single incident of stubble burning in the district. He said the officers of the Agriculture Department should make the farmers aware in this regard. He instructed the DC to talk to the officials of the thermal power plant, Yamunanagar, to buy the stubble.
