The Punjab Civil Medical Services Association (PCMSA), Jalandhar, has condemned an incident of alleged violence against doctors on duty that took place on the night of October 19 at the Civil Hospital Jalandhar.

Expressing cconcern over the safety of doctors, the PCMSA also suspended OPD services at the hospital today. They said the protest will continue until an FIR is registered.

The PCMSA said the violence reportedly began by a reporter from a local newspaper who targeted doctors. The Medical Superintendent (MS) has assured support to the doctors. In response to the incident, the MS has written to the police and district administration, urging them to lodge an FIR against him.
