Ludhiana, September 5

Swab test is the standard protocol laid down by the Ministry of Health while CT scan gives quick results. Many people are now going for a CT scan to detect Covid. However, such people go unnotified.

The technique is being used because it saves time and the results are accurate. Dr Ramesh Chander, state president of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association, said CT scan was not the first choice for the detection of Covid. “CT scan is done to rule out any complications in the lungs. Sometimes, the patient tests negative but has symptoms and that is where CT scan helps,” he said.
