A 58-year-old patient received the ‘gift of life’ on his birthday when he was discharged from the hospital after going through a difficult phase of his life.

Patient Gopal Taneja was brought to the neurosurgery OPD of Dayanand Medical College and Hospital suffering from left-sided weakness. He was unable to walk for the past 10 days. A CT scan revealed a massive blood clot in the right side of his brain. The patient, with a history of diabetes and hypertension, underwent surgery on his brain, during which the large blood clot was successfully removed.

After the operation, the patient was fully conscious and showed significant improvement by evening, with his left-sided paralysis nearly returning to normal. By the third day of surgery, on September 26 — coinciding with his birthday — he was discharged in a conscious state, fully ambulatory without support and free from any paralysis.
