DMCH observes communal harmony week, flag day
Dayanand Medical College celebrated communal harmony week and flag day, which are observed from November 19-25 annually.
This year, the day was celebrated on Thursday on the DMC campus, under auspices of the National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH), by the Department of Physiology. The theme for the week this year is ‘Communal Harmony, National Integration and Fraternity’.
Various activities, including solo songs , group songs, slogan writing and poster making contests were also organised. The day was celebrated by all the students and staff with full vigour and zeal.
Dr G S Wander, principal, while addressing the students stressed on need for promoting communal harmony in the country.
“In the medical profession, it is important to deliver healthcare services that meet the cultural, social and religious needs of patients and their families,” he said.
Dr Vidushi Gupta, Professor and Head Department of Physiology, introduced the significance of communal harmony day and sensitised the audience about the need of harmony in the society for national integration.
