Swimming, hockey and powerlifting competitions were organised today in the series of district-level competitions under ‘Kheda Watan Punjab Diya-2024’ organised by the Punjab Government with an aim to promote sports in the state.

Divjot Singh secured first position in the swimming U14 100m butterfly competition. He was followed by Gary Sejal in second place and Yuvraj Modi in third position. In the U14 girls’ 100m backstroke, Pawanni secured the win. She was followed by Nupur in second place and Ira Banerjee in third place. In the U17 boys’ 400m freestyle event, Warisdeep Sandhu secured the top spot. He was followed by Krishna Kunwar in second place and Harshdeep Singh in third place.

In the U21 100m butterfly, Harshit clinched the top spot. He was followed by Shivansh Bhatia in second place and Daniel in the third position. In the U17 girls’ 50m backstroke, Tavisha Sharma secured first place. She was followed by Ritu Rana and Harleen Kaur in the third position.

In the hockey U14 girls’ competition, the team from Doaba Khalsa Senior Secondary School secured the top spot. They were followed by Surjit Hockey Training Centre in second place and Government High School, Nangal Fateh Khan, in third place.

In the U17 match, the hockey team of Doaba Khalsa Senior Secondary School clinched the top spot. They were followed by Senior Secondary School Dhanowali Hockey Centre in second place and Government High School Nangal Fateh Khan in the third spot.

In the U21 category, Lyallpur Khalsa College secured first place. They were followed by Lyallpur Khalsa College for Institute in second and Doaba Khalsa Senior Secondary School in third spot.

In powerlifting, Amanjot secured first place in the 72-kg category of U17 girls. She was followed by Ayesha in second and Jagdeep Kaur in third.

Avleen Kaur stood first in the 81-kg category. In the 52-kg category, Asha Kumari got first place. In the 72 kg weight category, Bali stood first. The winner was followed by Pratibha in second place and Sukhjeet in third spot.

In the U21 category (72 kg), Amanjot Kaur got first place. She was followed by Ayesha in second place and Jasdeep Kaur in third spot.
