The firing incident reported on Monday night leaving two persons injured was a fallout of an ongoing dispute related to a taxi stand in Sector 32.

The suspects, who had fired gunshots, were known to the victims and used a country-made pistol in the crime.

The victims, identified as Honey Bhardwaj, a Sector 41resident, and Rajesh of Nayagaon, were admitted to the GMCH-32. They were discussing something at the taxi stand when the suspects arrived and fired at them. “Rajesh and one of the suspects were booked in a case of assault a few years ago,” said a police official.
