Discom’s audit by Delhi govt deceptive: Union Min
Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra has raised concerns over the ongoing audit of power distribution companies by the Delhi Government, alleging that the inquiry was a deceptive tactic to mislead public. Malhotra said the government itself held a 49 per cent stake in these companies, thus questioning the audit.
“It is laughable that the Atishi government is conducting an audit of power companies, in which it owns a significant share. Are they investigating their own actions? This inquiry seems to target either former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal or current Chief Minister Atishi, who was the Power Minister at the time,” said Malhotra.
Malhotra further criticised the collection of pension funds for discom employees from the public. “Why should the pension of discom employees be taken from the pockets of citizens? These companies should bear this cost themselves,” he said.
According to Malhotra, the audit is simply a ploy to cover up deeper issues within the administration. “This is all a tactic to appear clean in front of the citizens.
