Sirsa, July 23

Digvijay Chautala, secretary general of the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), has criticised Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for his claim of providing 50,000 jobs to the youth, calling it unrealistic. Chautala accused the state government of indulging in nepotism, alleging that several posts in the Haryana Skill Employment Corporation (HKRN) were being filled by the BJP supporters, and not the deserving candidates.

Addressing mediapersons in Sirsa, Chautala said the 22nd foundation day of the Indian National Students Organisation (INSO) — the students’ wing of the JJP — would be celebrated on August 5 at Chaudhary Devi Lal University here, adding that many political figures were expected to attend it. He claimed that the event would help the party generate significant support in Haryana. He further said the party would give an opportunity to the youth to contest the Assembly elections. Chautala said the JJP was open to forming an alliance with any party having similar ideologies, he added.

Talking about the student union elections, Chautala said the BJP was scared of holding direct elections in the state since its student organisation ABVP was not influential there. The BJP knew that if direct elections were conducted, the might have to face a decisive defeat, he added.

He further said the law and order situation in the state had deteriorated since the new government came into power as there had been a rise in the cases of murder, robbery and rape. The new government had no control over the police and administration, he added.
