Dhuri ex-MLA set to rejoin Congress
Former MLA of Dhuri Dalvir Singh Goldy Khangura, who left AAP last month, is set to join the Congress again. He is presently campaigning for Congress candidate from Gidderbaha Amrita Warring, wife of PCC chief-cum-MP Amrinder Singh Raja Warring.
Talking to The Tribune today, Goldy said, “I have come to Gidderbaha to campaign for Raja Warring’s wife as the duo had campaigned for me in my election. Further, I am being called by the Congress nominee in Barnala. I will take the decision to join the Congress shortly.”
Notably, Goldy left the Congress in May this year over denial of the party ticket from the Sangrur Lok Sabha seat and joined AAP. He had unsuccessfully contested the Assembly election against Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann in 2022 from Dhuri. At that time, he was the outgoing MLA of Dhuri.
Further, he unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha byelection from Sangrur on the Congress ticket in 2022 and was later appointed as the president of the District Congress Committee, Sangrur.
