Develop Hatu from tourism point of view, says Himachal Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla today visited Hatu temple, located about seven kilometres from Narkanda in Shimla district. The Governor said that there was a need to develop Hatu temple from tourism point of view and to improve the facilities available here.
Accompanied by First Lady Janki Shukla, this was Governor’s first visit to the Hatu temple. He was greatly impressed by the temple’s natural beauty.
Upon arrival at the temple, he was welcomed by Bhupinder Singh Kanwar, president of the Hatu temple committee along with Bhandari Het Ram and Secretary Gyan Chand Dogra. Bhupinder Singh briefed the Governor about the temple’s history and local beliefs.
Later, the Governor participated in a tree-plantation drive at Narkanda. Both the Governor and the First Lady planted saplings near the Circuit House in Narkanda. District administration officials and employees from various departments also joined in this tree plantation drive.
On the occasion, the Governor highlighted the importance of environmental conservation and increasing green cover. He said the Devbhoomi (Land of the Gods) was closely linked to its forests, which needed to be preserved. He said that deforestation was a significant factor in climate change and that planting trees could help mitigate this issue.
