With most of the upper region experiencing snowfall, dense fog has returned to Abohar and surrounding areas in the last three days, making the farmers jittery.

Farmer Chhinder Pal of Taja Patti village said that it had been extreme cold for the last few days due to which a blanket of fog could be seen in the morning, leading to heavy dew, which is almost frozen, on the crops as well. Mustard and potato crops will be hit if weather does not improve. At the same time, if the severity of cold does not subside in the coming days, then the wheat crop might also be damaged.

Another farmer Shiv Prakash in neighbouring Sadulshehar village said that for the last four days there had been severe cold and dense fog in Sadulshehar and Sangria villages, which is affecting the crops of wheat, mustard and gram. The growth of wheat has been affected due to fog and in the morning, while heavy dew can be seen on the roofs of houses as well as vehicles.
