Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Mid-Day Meal Office Employees Union members today gave demand letters to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, party president and Cabinet Minister Aman Arora, party working president Sherry Kalsi and Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO during the Chief Minister’s roadshow in Jalandhar.

Union leaders questioned the leaders as to why bureaucracy of the state does not pay heed to CM, Finance Minister Harpal Cheema and Arora.

They said Cheema held a meeting on November 6 and issued orders to officers and again at the meeting held on December 9m the same orders were reissued to resolve the issue of regularisation and salary deduction of teachers within 15 days. However, they said the Finance Minister’s orders were not followed. Officials of the department and the personnel department were ignoring these.

Employees leaders Shobhit Bhagat and Gagandeep Sharma said Arora assured the delegation that they would soon ensure a panel meeting of the union with the Chief Minister.

The leaders said the strike by the office workers is continuing until the demands are resolved. They said they will march towards the Chief Minister’s residence in Chandigarh on December 20.
