New Delhi: A woman (30) was allegedly shot dead by an unidentified man on Wednesday after their two-wheelers brushed against each other on the Gokalpuri flyover. The victim, identified as Simranjeet Kaur, was travelling with her husband Heera Singh and two sons. DCP (North East) Joy Tirkey said Singh later had a verbal spat with the man on the other two-wheeler. Singh told the police that the accused opened fire from a distance of 30-35 feet. The bullet hit Kaur in her chest and she was declared brought dead at the GTB Hospital. The DCP said efforts were being made to identify and arrest the assailant. PTI

Dough-kneading mishap, girl dies

New Delhi: A 15-year-old girl died after her hand got entangled and her head was pulled into a dough-kneading machine at 7.18 pm on Tuesday in the Begumpur area, the police said on Wednesday. A senior police officer said the girl was severely injured and unresponsive with her head stuck in the machine when the team reached the spot. She was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. An FIR has been registered and one person, identified as Rajesh Kumar, has been arrested. The police would also ascertain if she was working as a child labourer. PTI
Palwal youth electrocuted

Palwal: A 23-year-old youth died after getting electrocuted in a village here on Tuesday. The victim was identified as Sumit, son of Balkishan of Devli village. He was trying to straighten an iron rod at the site of an under-construction. The rod accidently touched an overhead high-tension electricity wire, leading to the mishap. The victim’s kin, who were present at the spot, managed to get him separated from the electrified iron road, but he succumbed to his injuries in a hospital soon after. TNS
