Woman robbed near Peera Garhi
New Delhi: A woman was brutally attacked and robbed by an auto-rickshaw driver near Peera Garhi in West Delhi on November 2. Police say the woman, who was traveling home to Sultanpuri, had hired an auto-rickshaw from Ramesh Nagar to Peera Garhi and then from Peera Garhi to Sultanpuri. The second driver, identified as Sahil, took her to a secluded spot, bludgeoned her with bricks and stole her gifts and jewellery. The woman was left seriously injured on the road. Sahil was arrested from Paschim Vihar on November 4 after he confessed to the crime. The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital, where her condition was initially critical, but she is now stable. PTI
5 hurt as SUV hits vehicles
New Delhi: At least five people were injured after the driver of an SUV lost control of the vehicle, which hit two motorcycles, a car and a handcart in the Aman Vihar area of Delhi’s Rohini, said the police on Tuesday. The police said a PCR call was received regarding a sports utility vehicle (SUV) hitting two motorcycles, another car and a handcart. A police team was rushed to the spot and it nabbed the driver of the SUV, said an officer. He said information has been received that five people have been injured in the incident, adding that legal action is being initiated. PTI
2 held with Rs 3.5-cr heroin
New Delhi: Police seized heroin worth Rs 3.5 crore in a raid in Bawana area and arrested two men in the drug bust, officials said on Tuesday. On Monday, police got a tip-off that two suppliers of heroin, Bilal Ahmed (23) and Anis (22), were coming to the Outer North district, they said. PTI
