What our readers say: Monkey menace in Gurugram
RESIDENTS of C-2 Block in Palam Vihar, Gurugram, have been dealing with the menace of monkeys for the past couple of years. Recently, the problem has escalated, with monkeys beginning to attack residents without any provocation. We urge the municipal authorities to deploy a monkey-catching team with strict targets and clear guidelines to relocate the monkeys as a matter of urgency. Amit Jain, Gurugram
Shortage of drinking water supply
Hundreds of residents in Gonchhi village, which falls within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation, Faridabad, have been facing an acute shortage of drinking water for nearly two months. Despite raising the issue with the civic authorities and the Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority multiple times in recent weeks, no relief has been provided so far, forcing residents to rely on private tankers and suppliers at an additional cost. While almost all candidates in the recent Assembly elections promised to address this long-standing grievance, the newly elected MLA must instruct district authorities to expedite the resolution of this issue, as the provision of potable water is a basic necessity. Sandeep Siddharth, Faridabad
Is a civic issue bothering you? Are you agitated over the lack of concern? Is there something heartening that you feel needs to be highlighted? Or a picture which in your opinion ought to be seen by many, and not just you?
