What our readers say: Industrial units causing air, water pollution
THE menace of air pollution remains unchecked in several parts of the city. The Springfield colony and parts of Sectors 30 and 31 in the city are some of the areas where the problem of air and water pollution persists. While the industrial units in the area are located close to the residential pockets having a large number of residents within the vicinity of 2 km, some of the factories can be seen spewing out smoke from their chimneys which results in polluted air. The authorities of the State Pollution Control Board need to take action against such sources.

Plug leakage in sewage pipeline
TWO streets, No. 10 and 12, in Surat Nagar, Phase-1, Gurugram, have been inundated with dirty water for several days. While the rains have stopped, a pipeline leak has caused sewage water to mix with the floodwater, posing a significant health risk to the 1,000 residents living there. The municipal authorities are urged to drain this contaminated water and fix the sewage pipeline leakage promptly.
