Wanted gangster nabbed, deported from Thailand

In a major breakthrough, the Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana Police have nabbed gangster Raj Kumar alias Raju Basodi, who has been deported from Thailand.
Sources claimed that 38-year-old Raju had been operating an extortion racket for Lawrence Bishnoi gang from Thailand and a local team detained him before he was flown to India on February 3.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the recent escape of Sandeep alias Kala Jatheri from police custody in Faridabad on February 1 was carried out to send him to Thailand as a replacement for Raju.
According to the STF, a lookout circular had been issued. Raju was arrested from the Delhi airport after the STF were alerted by immigration officials. He was produced in a local court, which sent him to 10-day police remand.
Raju was wanted in Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Chandigarh and Delhi. The Haryana Police announced a reward of Rs 2.5 lakh for information leading to his arrest.
“He is involved in 13 cases of murder, three of attempt to murder and around a dozen of robbery and dacoity,” said B Satheesh Balan, DIG, STF.
