Three held for killing youth in Pushp Vihar

The Delhi Police arrested three persons for murdering a 21-year-old youth in Pushp Vihar, the police said on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Monu Thapa.

The Saket police got a PCR call around 3:42 am on Thursday that a body was lying at a park.

“After getting information, a team reached the spot. The deceased had injury marks on his face. A blood-stained stone, suspected to be the murder weapon, was recovered from the spot,” a senior police officer stated.

A case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Police officials said they checked CCTV footage and identified the accused - Abhishek, his brother Babu and an associate named Sourav, alias Puchhi.

“The accused initially fled the homes along with their family members,” the official said.

One of the accused, Abhishek, was apprehended in the Kalkaji area. “His interrogation led to the arrest of Babu and Sourav, who were hiding at their native village in Ajnar, Mohaba district, Uttar Pradesh,” the officer said.

During questioning, the accused confessed to the crime, citing a longstanding grudge as the motive.

“The investigation revealed that the deceased had attacked Babu in 2022. A case was registered under Section 324 of the IPC at the time. The accused claimed that Monu used to threaten them and their family members,” the police official stated.

The accused allegedly planned and executed the murder in revenge. “They attacked Monu with a stone, leading to his death on the spot,” the official added.

Abhishek (19) resides near Power House, Sector 7, Pushp Vihar, while Babu (22) and Sourav (20) live in Dakshinpuri.
