The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched a sharp criticism of the BJP after the Supreme Court granted bail to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with a corruption case linked to the excise policy scam, accusing the BJP of “misusing investigative agencies”.

Senior AAP leaders, including former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, declared that the court’s decision was a “tight slap on BJP’s face”, with the apex court noting that the CBI had been acting as a “caged parrot” under the Central Government’s influence.

Demanding an apology from the BJP, Sisodia said, “The BJP must apologise to the country as it has been exposed before the Supreme Court today for openly misusing the ED and the CBI.” He added that the court ruling was an emotional moment for AAP, representing not only Kejriwal’s innocence but also a message of hope for ordinary citizens.

“The Supreme Court has delivered a powerful message today — that when agencies are misused in a dictatorial manner, the Constitution will stand by the citizens,” Sisodia emphasised.

He alleged that the case against Kejriwal was a politically motivated conspiracy by the BJP, designed to imprison the Chief Minister.
