The second phase of the Delhi Nyay Yatra concluded with a massive public reception at Ramlila Maidan, Chilla Sports Complex, Vasundhara Enclave and Patparganj District in East Delhi on Wednesday.

Accompanied by thousands of Congress workers, including a large contingent of women volunteers, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav garnered widespread support from local residents and party supporters.

Members of the Residents’ Welfare Association of Vasundhara Enclave were among the first to offer support to the Nyay Yatra. Local residents garlanded Yadav as a symbol of their support, expressing confidence in the yatra’s success.

“I am humbled by the warmth and enthusiasm shown by the people. The support we are receiving confirms that the public is yearning for change,” said Yadav during the reception.

“The Congress has always stood by the people in their times of struggle, and when we return to power, we will work for the welfare of every citizen of Delhi,” he added.

Earlier in the day, Yadav visited the Ganesh Temple in Mayur Vihar Phase II to offer his prayers, before leading the yatra through the Assembly segments of Kondly, Trilokpuri and Patparganj. The yatra culminated in a massive public meeting at Badrinath Park in Vinod Nagar, IP Extension.

Prominent leaders joining the yatra included former MP Sandeep Dikshit, former MLA Anil Kumar, former Mayor Farhad Suri and district and block presidents from various constituencies.

During the yatra, Yadav interacted with local street vendors and a carpenter involved in making furniture, who shared their struggles under the current Delhi government. Yadav criticised the Kejriwal administration for neglecting the common people, particularly in terms of governance and economic support.

“The people of Delhi have suffered under Kejriwal’s misrule for over a decade. The Kejriwal government has failed the working-class people, leaving them to fend for themselves while making empty promises,” said Yadav. “When the Congress returns to power, we will restore Delhi’s former glory and revive the welfare schemes that truly benefited the people,” he claimed.

Yadav also targeted Kejriwal’s handling of government schools, claiming that the education system, which was once a model of excellence under the Congress government, has deteriorated under the AAP administration.

“Under the Congress, Delhi’s government schools were the pride of the nation. Today, Kejriwal has ruined the education system, leaving our children with little hope for a better future,” he said.
