Delhi University has officially announced a three-member committee to oversee the Delhi University Student Union (DUSU) elections for the 2024-25 academic year. According to an official communication, the Vice-Chancellor, acting as the Patron of the DUSU, has established the committee under Chapter 4, Clause 6(1) of university regulations.

The committee will be led by prof Satyapal Singh from the Department of Sanskrit, who will serve as the Chief Election Officer.

Professor Raj Kishore Sharma from the Department of Chemistry has been appointed as the Chief Returning Officer, while Dr Rajesh Singh, the university librarian, will act as the Returning Officer.

In addition, the principals of affiliated colleges and heads of institutions connected with the DUSU have been designated as Election Officers. They will manage the elections for the office-bearers and members of the central council of DUSU within their respective colleges and institutions.

The committee will oversee the election of four central posts: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Joint Secretary. Elections for similar positions at the college level will be conducted by the respective colleges, with the central committee ensuring the process remains fair.
