Open letter futile effort to regain lost trust: Opposition
In response to an open letter addressed to Delhiites by AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, Opposition leaders have criticised it as a desperate attempt to mask alleged corruption.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva dismissed Kejriwal’s letter, stating, “It contains nothing new but echoes the same rhetoric he has been peddling before the Lok Sabha elections. This tired narrative has been unequivocally rejected by the people.”
Sachdeva emphasised, “Instead of fostering development, Kejriwal has led Delhi into deterioration over the past decade.
His focus remains on deceitful politics despite recent electoral setbacks.”
Devender Yadav, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president, accused Kejriwal of evading accountability. “Kejriwal’s claims of innocence in his letter are shameless. He failed to explain why his administration scrapped the corrupt liquor policy only after facing legal scrutiny,” Yadav stated. He added, “His tenure has been marred by controversies, including arrests and allegations of corruption. Kejriwal’s attempt to portray himself as a victim is baseless, given the widespread disillusionment among Delhiites.”
