Chandni Chowk MP, Praveen Khandelwal, has appealed Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor, VK Saxena, to order an infrastructure audit of the official residence of former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal dubbed as ‘Sheesh Mahal’ by the Opposition. Khandelwal accused Kejriwal of gross misuse of public funds and called for an investigation into the extravagant renovations made in the house.

Khandelwal said, “The tax money collected from the public should be used for their welfare and development, not to finance the luxurious lifestyle of an individual.”

He emphasised the need for an audit to uncover potential irregularities in how taxpayer money was spent. “Conducting an infrastructure audit is necessary to reveal the extent of the misuse of public funds,” Khandelwal added.

The MP said the issue transcended Kejriwal’s role and raised broader concerns about the transparency and accountability of the Delhi administration. “It raises serious questions about how public funds are managed,” he said. He urged the L-G to ensure a thorough probe and to make the audit findings public. “The way the AAP government spent crores to convert an ordinary government residence into a ‘Sheesh Mahal’ shows how easily public money can be wasted.”
