The national capital experienced significant traffic congestion on Thursday as early morning rain caused waterlogging with reports of disrupted movement coming from across the National Capital. East and West Delhi saw substantial traffic delays due to accumulated water, which led to severe traffic jams.

Rainfall early in the day affected key locations such as Green Park, Indira Gandhi International Airport, South Extension, and Minto Bridge, causing considerable waterlogging. On Rohtak Road, water accumulation resulted in traffic jams in both directions between Nangloi and Tikri Border.

“Waterlogging on Rohtak Road has severely affected traffic flow. We advise commuters to avoid the Mundka area and seek alternative routes to mitigate delays,” Delhi Traffic Police said in an advisory.

Puram, Kalindikunj, Gazipur, Indirapuram, Laxmi Nagar, Dwarka, Connaught Place, Noida, Safdarjung, Uttam Nagar, East of Kailash, and Rohini, experienced light showers on Thursday morning. Traffic was particularly problematic on Old Pankha Road due to a large pothole, while GTK Road and MB Road were also affected by waterlogging and potholes.
