Mayor orders completion of MLA-LAD projects by Dec
Mayor Shelly Oberoi led a comprehensive review meeting on Monday with officials of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to accelerate the completion of projects under the MLA Local Area Development (MLA-LAD) Scheme.
She directed that all projects across Delhi’s 12 zones should be completed by the first week of December 2024, emphasising daily monitoring and regular status reports to ensure timely execution.
The meeting, attended by MLAs and engineering department officials, focused on various key development projects funded by MLA-LAD, including road construction, lane repairs, installation of street lights and covering drains. Other pressing issues such as park boundary walls were also discussed.
Civic body officials presented a detailed report on completed and pending projects, outlining their progress and challenges. Oberoi instructed officials to expedite any remaining work orders and issued a warning that delays or negligence in project execution would not be tolerated, with strict action to follow in such cases.
Highlighting the Aam Aadmi Party government’s commitment to enhancing civic infrastructure, Oberoi said, “Ensuring a clean, beautiful and pollution-free city is our top priority, and we are making every possible effort to provide better civic amenities to Delhi residents.”
