A 28-year-old man was allegedly murdered after being struck with a stone during an altercation while dancing at a wedding ceremony in Basai village last night. The police have registered an FIR and arrested the accused.

The deceased has been identified as Arun Kumar, a resident of Subhash Park, Uttam Nagar, Delhi. The accused, identified as Nitin, alias Naitik, alias Machhar, is also a resident of Uttam Nagar. Both had come to attend a wedding at the community centre in Basai.

According to the complaint filed by Arun Kumar’s brother-in-law, Arun, along with his friends, was at the wedding when an altercation broke out with another person. The argument escalated into a fight, during which the accused struck Arun with a stone, resulting in fatal injuries. Arun was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
