Man kills mother over Canada migration dispute
A man has allegedly killed his mother following a dispute over his migration plan to Canada. Geeta (50) was found dead with multiple injuries after a heated argument with her son, Krishan Kant (31), over his desire to migrate to Canada. The incident took place at their residence in Molarband village, Badarpur.
The incident came to light on November 6 when Geeta was brought to Apollo Hospital around 4.58 pm by her husband, Surjeet Singh (52), and some neighbours, but she was declared dead on arrival.
Preliminary probe revealed that Krishan had called his father around 3.30 pm, asking him to come home urgently. When Surjeet reached, Krishan reportedly apologised and told his father to check the first floor of their home. He then fled the spot. Surjeet went upstairs, only to discover his wife in a pool of blood.
He immediately rushed her to the hospital.
Surjeet Singh, a property dealer with an office at Tanki Road, Jaitpur, has two sons. His younger son, Sahil, alias Bholi, is employed at a bank. Krishan Kant, who reportedly struggled with addiction, was unemployed and allegedly known for causing disruptions at home.
Police say Krishan Kant, alias Rohin or KK, had recently expressed a strong desire to move to Canada. The family, however, had insisted that he get married before making such plans. This ongoing dispute allegedly led to the altercation, during which Krishan attacked his mother with a knife he had reportedly purchased earlier. The accused has been arrested.
