Last metro to run at 10 pm today
New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Wednesday said the last train on October 31 will run at 10 pm, against the usual timing of 11 pm. “The Metro train services will run as usual for the rest of the day on Diwali from routine commencement timings on all the lines.” it added.
French envoy’s phone stolen
New Delhi: Two persons were arrested for allegedly stealing a mobile phone from French Ambassador Thierry Mathou while he was on a visit to the Chandni Chowk market, an official said on Wednesday. Mathou and his wife had gone to visit the market for shopping in the afternoon of October 20, when his mobile phone was stolen from his pocket, the official said. They further said Mathou and his wife were not escorted by any security cover during the incident.
Fire breaks out in slum area
New Delhi: A fire broke out in a slum area in Rohini here, officials of the Delhi Fire Services said on Wednesday. According to the official, no casualties have been reported. “We received a call regarding a fire in some shanties in the Vijay Vihar area close to Rithala at 9 pm. We rushed a total of seven fire tenders to the spot,” a senior DFS official said. “It took more than one hour to douse the flames. No one received any injuries. The police are yet to ascertain the exact cause of the fire,” he said.
