Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva on Tuesday congratulated the people of Haryana for choosing the BJP for a third consecutive term, stating that the party’s victory highlights that the state has rejected caste-based politics and corruption.

Terming the BJP’s electoral success in Haryana as a testament to its focus on development, Sachdeva said, “The people of Haryana have taught a lesson to those, who engaged in caste-based politics and thrived on corruption. The mandate is a clear rejection of the divisive politics promoted by the Congress.”

Sachdeva pointed out alleged corruption scandals under the Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s regime, particularly the land scam involving Congress leader Robert Vadra. “The people of Haryana have neither forgotten nor forgiven the corruption that took place 10 years ago,” he added.

Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi for his comments during the campaign, he further said, “The defeat of the Congress was sealed the day Rahul Gandhi promised to set up jalebi factories as part of his campaign rhetoric. The progressive people of Haryana have rejected this kind of politics.”

Sachdeva also criticised former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, whose Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) failed to win a single seat in Haryana. “Despite pouring in resources from the liquor scam and from the Delhi and Punjab governments, AAP couldn’t even open its account in Haryana,” Sachdeva added.

“Kejriwal tried to sell Haryana the same false dreams of development that he sold in Delhi and Punjab, but the people saw through them all. The result shows that Kejriwal couldn’t even compete with NOTA,” he quipped.

Sachdeva predicted that Kejriwal’s political influence would diminish further in the future. “In 2024, Haryana has given zero to Kejriwal, and in 2025, Delhi will also bring him to zero,” he added.
