New Delhi: The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has announced a temporary shutdown on Sunday of the Sonia Vihar Water Works, leading to a disruption in potable water supply in several areas under the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). Affected locations will include Jor Bagh, Lodhi Colony, BK Dutt Colony, Golf Links, Khan Market, and many others. The residents of the affected area can request water tankers or water trolleys by contacting the NDMC Water Supply Control Room at Kali Bari Marg.
Pigeon feeding spots to go
New Delhi:The Municipal Corporation of Delhi is considering a proposal to ban pigeon-feeding spots across the city, citing potential health risks posed by the overpopulation of these birds. Popular feeding areas, typically seen on pavements, roundabouts, and road intersections, could soon be shut down if the proposal is approved.
Fire breaks out at PNB branch
New Delhi: A fire broke out at Punjab and National Bank's (PNB) branch in the Gandhi Nagar area here on Saturday evening, officials said. No one was injured in the fire but a portion of the bank and an ATM were gutted, they said. At 7.35 pm, a call was received about the blaze at the PNB branch in Shahdara's Gandhi Nagar area and three fire tenders were pressed into service. The fire was brought under control within an hour, a Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official said. The cause of the fire would be known after the investigation has been completed, Fire Officer Anoop Singh said.
