Moderate to heavy spell of rain coupled with thunderstorm and lightening in Gurugram on Wednesday afternoon led to waterlogging, traffic congestion and power outages in many areas.

Motor vehicles were reportedly stuck on the old Gurugram-Delhi and Sohna roads, Rajiv Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, Subash Chowk, and many other areas. The low lying areas have inundated in water.

Light to moderate rain also occurred on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday in most parts of Gurugram and its adjoining areas.

The Indian Meteorological Department issued a warning predicting moderate to heavy rainfall for the next few hours. The next couple of days could also witness light to moderate rainfall, it added.

Thunderstorms with lightning and light to moderate rain is also likely to occur at a few places over Faridabad, Nuh, Palwal, Bhiwani, Charki Dadri, Jhajjar and Rohtak on Wednesday in the next few hours, Met added.
