Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) Chief Executive Officer A Sreenivas chaired a meeting today with officers from the Urban Environment Division to review the progress of green belt development undertaken by colonisers and private organisations through MoUs signed under GMDA’s CSR initiative.

During the meeting, the Environment Division reported that 127 MoUs have been signed with private entities to enhance and beautify the city’s green belts, central verges and open spaces. However, the performance of 46 organisations was deemed unsatisfactory, as their outputs failed to meet GMDA’s defined norms. Concerns were also raised regarding the potential misutilisation of funds allocated for these CSR activities.

“Development and beautification of green belts in the city is a top priority for GMDA. We will take strict action against organisations failing to adhere to the MoU norms or neglecting their CSR responsibilities. Progress is being closely monitored, and warnings will be issued to underperformers,” said the GMDA CEO.

The CEO directed that notices be issued to non-compliant companies that have failed to meet their targets or make meaningful contributions to green belt development or beautification projects outlined in their agreements with GMDA.
