Of these samples, at least samples of food items such as pulses, rice grains, cheese, sweets etc have failed the quality tests. The quality tests were conducted in a government-run laboratory in Karnal. The food safety wing of the Health Department revealed that the samples of the wheat flour, pulses and rice collected from the canteen of Medical College and Hospital at Nalharh were found infestated with pests and insects. The samples of desi ghee and curd collected from the famous Shyam Dairy in Tauraru also failed the quality tests.
