Finally, Atishi gets 6-Flagstaff Road bungalow
The Public Works Department (PWD) on Friday handed over the 6, Flagstaff Road, Civil Lines, bungalow (Chief Minister’s residence) to Atishi following a war of words between the AAP and Lieutenant-Governor (L-G).
In a letter, dated October 11, the Director of Allotment, PWD, offered the bungalow to Atishi after due process of handing over and taking over. Former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had vacated the residence following his resignation from the post.
The department laid some conditions while taking over the residence — if allottee makes any unauthorised construction in the bungalow at any time, the allotment is liable to be cancelled in addition to payment of applicable damages etc. as per the relevant provisions of the Delhi Administration Allotment of Government Residences (General Pool) Rules, 1977.
“Since the said house is under investigation of the CBI/other agencies for various violations, the allottee is advised to extend full cooperation in the investigation, as may be required,” it added.
