Lok Sabha Speaker and BJP leader Om Birla has called upon the younger generation to work towards making the country excel in development without losing the cultural identity of the nation.

Addressing the 10th convocation ceremony of a private educational institute Manav Rachna University as chief guest, he said the country needed the energy and dedication of the youth to make it stronger at all levels to meet and resolve all kinds of global challenges. “You have to take a pledge to make India a developed country with all the values and rich familial and social traditions remaining intact,’’ he said to the graduates and post graduates who were awarded degrees today. Though India has already emerged as a major power at the international level in various fields like education, medicine, IT and automobile sector, the youth should keep in mind that their contribution towards the society as civilised citizens will lead to nation building, he said. He said though the country had sufficient resources, the youth must work with full dedication and energy in the right direction.

Haryana Revenue and Urban Bodies Minister Vipul Goyal was the special guest at the ceremony. More than 1,500 degrees were awarded to graduates, postgraduates and PhD students.
