Thousands of devotees thronged temples across Delhi on the first day of Sharadiya Navratri on Thursday, marking the beginning of the nine-day festival with prayers and rituals. The Maa Aadya Katyayani Shakti Peeth Mandir in Chhatarpur was a major hub of activity, with worshippers waiting in long queues to offer prayers from as early as 4 am.
The temple grounds echoed with devotional chants as over 6,000 sevadars and 200 policemen were deployed to ensure a smooth and secure flow of devotees. The temple was adorned with flowers sourced from across India and abroad.
