Chief Minister Atishi on Monday, in a letter to the Joint Parliamentary Committee Chairperson, wrote that the report submitted by the administrator of the board be treated as “null and void” since it did not have the Delhi Government’s approval.

The CM said the report was submitted by IAS officer Ashwini Kumar, administrator of the Delhi Waqf Board, before the Joint Parliamentary Committee headed by Jagdambika Pal.

“This report has been submitted by the said officer without the approval of the Government of NCT of Delhi and, therefore, maybe treated as ab initio null and void. Any presentation on the same maybe cancelled till a report is submitted with the approval of the government,” the letter read.

Meanwhile, opposition members walked out of the meeting on the Waqf Amendment Bill, protesting against the presentation of the report submitted by the Delhi Waqf Board.

The members also claimed that the administrator had made changes in the report without the approval of the government.
