The SGPC, the Sikh Coordination Committee East Coast (SCCEC) and American Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (AGPC) have condemned the violence in Delhi.

SGPC chief Gobind Singh Longowal said, “The anti-Sikh riots of 1984 have not been forgotten till date. It is the responsibility of the government to ensure safety of minority community.”

In a strongly worded statement, the working committees of the SCCEC and AGPC termed the violence as state sponsored. “…This is a repeat of 1984, except this time the victims were Muslims….This is a planned attack by the state-sponsored machinery which started at the end of visit by US President Trump,” said Pritpal Singh, coordinator, AGPC. — TNS
