Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Delhi P Krishnamurthy said, “Special summary revision of electoral roll with respect to January 1, 2025, as the qualifying date has commenced in all 70 Assembly constituencies of the NCT of Delhi.”

“The primary objective of this revision is to include newly eligible and left-out voters with respect to January 1, 2025 i.e. who have completed or will be completing the age of 18 on or before January 1, 2025.

Another objective for the revision is to give opportunities for correction in electors’ particulars and also invite objections against any wrong inclusion in the electoral roll,” he added.

The CEO further said a new provision has been introduced in the Special Summary Revision-2025. Any eligible citizen who will attain the age of 18 on any of the upcoming qualifying dates in 2025 — April 1, July 1, or October 1 — may file a claim to include their name in the electoral roll.

“A person whose name has been wrongfully deleted from the electoral roll can file an appeal under Section 24 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, within the prescribed period of 15 days to the District Election Officer against the deletion of their name or submit Form-6 for inclusion in the electoral roll at any time during the summary revision,” the CEO added.

The final electoral roll will be published on January 6, 2025. The period for filing claims and objections is scheduled from October 29 to November 28, with special campaign days on November 9, 10, 23 and 24. All claims and objections will be resolved by December 24.
