New Delhi, July 8

Acting on the orders of Lieutenant-Governor (L-G) VK Saxena, the Delhi government on Monday directed that the transfer of 5,000 school teachers, who have been posted in the same school for more than 10 years, be put in abeyance.

‘It is teachers’ victory’

Today Delhi’s teachers and Delhiites have won. The BJP has not been able to bring such an education revolution in any of its ruled states. In BJP-ruled states like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, government schools are in a dilapidated state.Rs — Atishi, Education Minister

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said the resistance of Education Minister Atishi had compelled the L-G to revoke the order. Atishi pointed out that the BJP orchestrated this move to sabotage the “education revolution” spearheaded by the Kejriwal government, which has transformed the city’s schools over the past decade.

Atishi congratulated the teachers and said the struggle of the teachers, children and their parents in Delhi government schools was successful. “More than 5,000 teachers were transferred overnight by issuing transfer orders. The BJP has not been able to bring such an education revolution in any of its ruled states. In BJP-ruled states like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, government schools are in a dilapidated state,” she said.

Atishi mentioned that the BJP could not digest this education revolution in Delhi. Therefore, the BJP hatched a conspiracy to transfer all the teachers who are involved in Kejriwal’s education revolution and are providing good education to poor children.

On June 11, an order was issued by the Directorate of Education stating that any teacher who has been teaching in the same school for 10 years should compulsorily apply for a transfer. Failing which they will be transferred to any school by the DoE, according to the circular. “This has never happened in the history of the education department of the Delhi Government,” she added.

Atishi shared that on June 28, the Education Minister instructed the Chief Secretary to withdraw this order. “On July 1, this order was given in writing to the Director of Education. However, the BJP on July 2, through the L-G, got 5,000 teachers transferred overnight. These transfers were done only and only as a conspiracy to ruin the schools of the Delhi Government,” she alleged.

The Education Minister said, “I had promised the people of Delhi, teachers of government schools, children and their parents that no matter how many conspiracies the BJP hatches, we will not let the Delhi Government schools be ruined, and we will not let this education revolution stop. I am happy that due to the struggle of the people of Delhi, the BJP had to withdraw this transfer order through its L-G. This is the victory of the people of Delhi.”

“No matter how many conspiracies BJP hatches to trouble the people of Delhi, to stop their work, the Arvind Kejriwal government will keep fighting for Delhiites,” Atishi added.
