The 28th edition of the Delhi Book Fair was inaugurated on Wednesday by CA Rajat Agarwal, IAS, Executive Director of India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), at Bharat Mandapam, Hall No. 12A and 12. The five-day event, running from August 7 to 11 also features the stationery fair, office automation and corporate gift fair as key attractions.

Open daily from 10am to 7pm, the fair can be accessed through Gate No 10 (near Supreme Court Metro Station). Alongside the book exhibitions, the event will feature various promotional programs such as conferences, workshops, and painting competitions, aiming to make the event more engaging for all attendees.

“The Delhi Book Fair holds a special place for ITPO as it connects with the youth, the future of our country,” he said in his inaugural address. He also encouraged the ITPO team to gather feedback from visiting students to improve future editions of the fair.

Naveen Gupta, President of the Federation of Indian Publishers (FIP), which co-organises the Delhi Book Fair, also praised ITPO for enhancing the event’s facilities.

The fair, spread over 1,500 square meters, features more than 90 leading companies, including the Publication Division of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Sahitya Akademi, Gorakhpur Gita Press, and Rupa Publications. The theme for this year’s fair is ‘Global influence of Indian books, underscoring the global impact of Indian literature. An exclusive national conference on this theme is scheduled for August 9, 2024, organised by FIP and ISOLS Group with active support from ITPO.

The fair offers a wide array of opportunities for participants, including B2B transactions, co-publishing arrangements, translation and copyright deals, and retail sales.
