The placement of advertisements and publicity material by individuals and private companies on public buildings, including offices, park walls, road medians and electric and streetlight poles, has become a significant issue. Unfortunately, the authorities have not taken action against offenders, allowing this problem to persist. This lack of enforcement has led to the violation of rules and regulations and has contributed to a shabby appearance at public spots. The defacement of public property is illegal and can result in penalties and prosecution. However, in this city, action against offenders has been lacking. It is essential for the authorities to impose heavy fines to deter this practice. Varun Sheokand, Faridabad

Sewage overflow adds to residents’ woes

Broken manholes and sewage overflow have become a persistent problem in K, P and N blocks of New Palam Vihar, Phase 1. Whenever we file a complaint, the authorities take temporary measures to fix the problem, and soon enough it’s back to square one. The civic body must repair the damaged manholes and find a permanent solution to the problem.
