The Capital is bustling with excitement and vibrant decorations, as towering effigies of Ravana, Meghnad and Kumbhakarna are poised to be set ablaze tomorrow during Dasehra. This year, the city is all set to celebrate this festival with grandeur, honouring the age-old tradition of good triumphing over evil.

In Madhavdas Park, located within the historic grounds of Red Fort, the Shri Dharmik Leela Committee will host a significant event featuring a dramatic re-enactment of the Lord Ram-Ravana battle. The President and the Prime Minister are expected to grace the occasion, highlighting its national importance. BJP president Virendra Sachdeva will also be in attendance, adding to the political significance of the festivities.

The Lav Kush Ramlila will welcome notable Bollywood stars and the cast of Singham Again — Kareena Kapoor and Ajay Devgn, promising a blend of traditional performance and contemporary celebrity appeal. This combination is set to attract a diverse audience, enhancing the festive spirit across the city.

In Dwarka, Sri Ram Lila Society has prepared an impressive 120-ft effigy of Ravana, reflecting this year’s theme inspired by Ayodhya’s Ram Temple. The entrance gates, designed in the South Indian temple style known as “Gopuram”, will create an immersive cultural atmosphere for the attendees.

Similarly, the Luv Kush Ramlila Committee constructed a 120-ft Ravana effigy, involving the craftsmanship of 18 artisans from Uttar Pradesh and the Delhi-NCR region. In addition to Ravana, the committee has also created a 100-ft effigy of Meghnad and a 110-ft effigy of Kumbhakarna, promising a visually stunning experience.

The celebrations are not limited to these places only, the Ramlila Maidan, known for its towering effigies and rich history in Dasehra celebrations, will also host various performances and rituals, managed by the Delhi Ramlila Committee. Another notable venue is Lal Qila Maidan, located in the heart of Old Delhi.

For those looking for a unique cultural experience, the Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra Theatre Lawns at Mandi House will present a captivating Ramlila performance, followed by the ceremonial ‘Ravana Dahan’.

Meanwhile, the Dwarka Sri Ram Leela Society in DDA Grounds, Sector 10, invites local residents to partake in vibrant celebrations.

As Delhi prepares to bid a farewell to Ravana, the city is united in anticipation, embodying the timeless message of Dasehra: the victory of good over evil. With cultural performances, esteemed guests and an atmosphere brimming with enthusiasm, this year’s Dasehra celebrations promise to be memorable and inspiring for all.
