New Delhi: An 18-year-old was stabbed to death in a robbery bid in the Uttam Nagar area of Dwarka on Saturday. The victim was identified as Monu, a native of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place when Monu and his friend Monu Kumar were on their way to have dinner when they were stopped by four to five men near a Metro pillar. The accused tried to rob them. When they refused, one of them stabbed Monu on the upper back and fled. Monu was taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital before being shifted to Safdarjung Hospital. He died during treatment.

Domestic Help held for theft

New Delhi: The Delhi Police have arrested a domestic help for allegedly stealing jewellery from her employers’ house in South Delhi. The police have also arrested a goldsmith for purchasing the stolen jewellery from her. A complaint was received on August 27 regarding the theft of gold and diamond jewellery sets and Rs 70,200 in cash from the complainant’s home in the CR Park. The police questioned the domestic help, who had been working in the house for the last two years and she was found suspicious. During interrogation, she disclosed that she was in urgent need of money. She later sold the jewellery to a goldsmith identified as Ankit Jain (31).

‘Spirit of Tibet’ from tomorrow

New Delhi: The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) will hold a three-day event, ‘Spirit of Tibet’, celebrating culture and compassion in New Delhi. The event from, September 3 to September 5, will be held at the India International Centre and will commence with a prayer for ‘world peace’ by Tibetan Buddhist monks. The Sikyong or the Prime Minister of the Central Tibetan Administration will be attend the ceremony. The festival will include a seminar on the Dalai Lama’s contribution to world peace.
